Pros of Front Load Washing Machines
The major pro of front-load washers is that they clean better. Washing machines clean by using a combination of four elements: a chemical detergent, heat, time, and motion. Front loaders take advantage of gravity plus their own mechanical power to produce vigorous motion. The twisting function of a top loader just can’t match it. So your clothes, sheets, the T-shirt with that unfortunate stain (you know the one), they’ll all receive a better wash in a front-loader.
You’ll save money with this washer. How? These machines use significantly less energy (because they use gravity to help them out) and way less water than their top-loaded counterparts. So even if you pay a little more upfront, you’ll save on the utility bills in the long run.

Or would you just like to have more storage space next to your machines? No problem. Most front-load washers are designed to be stacked. You can use a stacking kit to safely secure the dryer on top. Cons of Front Load Washers
But it’s not all butterflies and rainbows when it comes to front-loading machines. There are some challenges too. For example, these appliances are more prone to mold issues. Using the wrong detergent, adding too much cleaner, or having a constantly damp door gasket will lead to mold (which leads to some rather undesirable smells). But the great news is, prevention is easier than you think. Keep your door and chemical drawer cracked between uses, wipe down the gasket with a rag after each load, and use the recommended amount and type of detergent. The other common issue to consider is that loading and unloading them can be uncomfortable, especially if you’re older. Bending all the way down to wash a load and then reaching above you to dry it can exacerbate existing physical problems. Should I Buy a Front Loader?
These machines clean better, they save money on utilities, and they save space! The cons of these washers are few and mostly preventable.
